Understanding Potential Surcharges
We believe you should have a clear understanding of potential costs before your pet’s procedure. Your spay or neuter estimate will include applicable potential surcharges so you can see how these circumstances could affect your final bill.
If your pet is found to be visibly overweight, in heat, pregnant, or to have a retained testicle, we will contact you before surgery proceeds and before any applicable additional charges are added.

A Quick Note About Fleas
For the comfort and safety of all pets in our hospital, flea treatment is required if fleas are found on your pet at any time while they are in our care. A $75 flea treatment charge will apply.
Additional Services
Additional services are available for your pet at the time of their spay or neuter procedure.
An appointment prior to the scheduled procedure is required for a pre-anesthetic examination and laboratory testing.

Pre-Anesthetic Lab Panel: $95
Comprehensive Lab Panel: $170
Microchip: $70
Heartworm Test (Dogs Only): $60
FeLV/FIV Test (Cats Only): $80
Rabies Vaccine (1 Year): $50
Have a Senior Pet?
A comprehensive lab panel is strongly recommended for all pets over 8 years of age undergoing anesthesia. This additional testing allows your veterinary team to gather more information about your pet’s health before their procedure.

Meet your Spay & Neuter Veterinarian
Meet Dr. Emily Purvis, DVM, MBA
Dr. Emily Purvis founded SoundVet Connection with a simple belief: improving access to veterinary care means finding new ways for the veterinary community to work together.

With extensive experience in shelter medicine and animal welfare leadership, Dr. Emily has dedicated her career to high-quality spay & neuter surgery, veterinary program development, and expanding access to affordable, essential, veterinary care.

Through SoundVet Connection, she partners with privately owned veterinary practices and animal welfare organizations to create practical, sustainable ways to make veterinary care more accessible, while supporting the practices providing that care.
Her partnership with Belfair Animal Clinic brings that philosophy to life—making high-quality spay and neuter services more accessible to pets and families in our community. Together, SVC and BAC are bringing affordable spay and neuter services to the community while creating meaningful connections between animal welfare groups, pet owners, and a locally owned full-service veterinary practice.

The goal? More collaboration. More access. More options for pets and the people who love them.

Before Your Pet's Procedure
Every pet is different, and their care should reflect that. An appointment before your pet’s scheduled spay or neuter is required for their pre-anesthetic examination and laboratory testing.

During the scheduling process, our team can answer questions about your pet’s procedure, recommended testing, optional services, and any potential additional costs.
